Organizers say the Eraserheads’ much-awaited music festival was postponed to make it ‘as epic as it can be’

MANILA, Philippines – The Eraserheads’ Electric Fun Music Festival has been rescheduled to October 18, organizers announced on Tuesday, April 29.

In a social media post, organizers said their decision to postpone the festival stemmed from the need to “make the experience even more memorable.”

“We know how much everyone has been looking forward to the Electric Fun — and we are, too! In our effort to ensure that this much-awaited music festival is as epic as it can be, we have decided to move it to a later date,” they wrote.

The festival was originally slated to happen on May 31 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City.

The organizers added that all tickets that have already been purchased will still be honored on October 18.

Aside from a long set by the Eraserheads, the festival will also feature performances by young Filipino music acts and veterans in the scene, such as The Itchyworms, Moonstar88, Basti Artadi, Dong Abay Music Organization, Imago, Blaster, Carousel Casualties, ALYSON, Party Pace, Pinkmen, Sa Vie, and General Luna.

The acts on the Electric Fun Music Festival lineup were handpicked by the Eraserheads themselves. The festival itself was conceptualized by the band, and was first announced during the premiere of their Eraserheads: Combo on the Run documentary in March.

The festival’s postponement comes after frontman Ely Buendia announced on April 6 that the band’s guitarist, Marcus Adoro, would be withdrawing from the show as new sexual abuse allegations against him had resurfaced.
