Sunmi, Pink Sweat$, The Rose on Wavy Baby Music Festival lineup

Sunmi, Pink Sweat$, The Rose and more have been announced for Careless Music’s Wavy Baby Music Festival taking place in Cebu next year. See the line-up below.

Two days ago, the Filipino record label co-founded by James Reid announced Wavy Baby, which will be held next year in conjunction with Sinulog Festival, or Santo Nino Festival, a religious and cultural festival in Cebu held yearly on the third week of January.

Now, the label has unveiled most of the line-up of the January 13-14 festival that will take place at the North Reclamation Area of Mandaue City. Its main headliner and another prominent performer has yet to be announced, but confirmed for the festival are ex-Wonder Girl Sunmi, US R&B singer Pink Sweat$, and Korean pop-rock band The Rose. Joining them are Aussie electronic duo Bag Raiders, and Filipino bands Ben&Ben and December Avenue.

As expected, many Careless Music artists are also on the line-up: Reid himself, Lesha, Jolianne and Massiah. They’ll be joined by new signees SOS, Destiny Rogers and August Wahh.

Tickets for the festival will go live “ASAP”, Careless said on social media. Limited pre-sale tickets will be available to users of the payment app Maya tomorrow.

The line-up for Wavy Baby Music Festival 2023 is:

Reid recently teased a North American tour slated to take place from January to February 2023, as well as a brand new album. In a global press conference held by the label, Reid revealed: “’Lovescene’ is the fastest project I’ve ever made and I’m already working on another album and a North American tour. I’m excited to perform on tour again for the first time in four years.”

Additional details such as his North American tour stops or a release date for the album have yet to be released.

Reid’s sophomore full-length effort ‘lovescene:’ was released in October. The album also features a guest appearance from Woosung of The Rose on the track ‘hold on tight’, following a previous collaboration that saw Reid featured on The Rose’s latest album, ‘Heal’, taking a verse on the track ‘Yes’.

In a previous interview with NME in March, Reid also teased an upcoming Careless Music mixtape. The mixtape is set to feature artists from the label’s current roster, with Liza Soberano, Nadine Lustre, Massiah and more named as participants alongside “a lot more artists”. A release date has yet to be announced.
