The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), together with the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), called on the public to nominate for the upcoming National Artist conferment in 2025
In 2025, the NCCA and CCP will confer new National Artists. This highly anticipated event will highlight exceptional Filipino talents who have demonstrated significant contributions to the fields of architecture and allied arts, cinema, dance, dramatic arts, literary arts, music, and visual arts.
Under Proclamation No.1001 dated April 27, 1972, the Order of National Artist, or Orden ng Pambansang Alagad ng Sining, was established to bestow appropriate recognition and prestige on Filipinos who have distinguished themselves and made outstanding contributions to Philippine arts and letters. According to the Republic Act (RA) 7365, the NCCA is given broad responsibilities for developing and promoting Filipino national culture and arts, including awards to persons who have significantly contributed to developing and promoting Philippine culture and the arts.
